I have purchased several copies for friends over the years. This is a very enjoyable book. Many, many good thoughts are in it.
There are definitely a few keepers in here, and it is a cute book. While that is cute, and probably fun for his friends and family who bought the book, it kind of takes the momentum out of the book.just seems kind of silly.Either way, I am a huge fan of short, easy-to-remember quotes, and this book has plenty of them, so I gave him a positive review. Enjoy.Todd HagopianPresident/CEOHagopian InstituteAuthor of the popular "Quote Junkie" book sereies and the brand new "Idiom Junkie" series I loved the fact that the book came with a CD, since I had never seen that offered in a quote book before. However, the book was peppered with quotes by the author himself.
The range of quotes is excellent. As a teacher, I want my students to take the words of others and feel their wisdom. I absolutely love this book. As a collector of quote books, I find this to be a perfectly organized collection that inspire me daily.
I am not a woman of unlimited means and I'm not going to waste my social security on any of this trash, let alone give my Grandson one of those books as a graduation present. This book will fit nicely on my Grandson's bookshelf in his dorm room in the fall and I'm sure it will come in handy when he writes his term papers. They were filled with biographies of people that I guess pass for celebrities today, divisive partisan non-fiction, anti-Christian bestsellers, and other novels that are filled with sex and violence. It contains a wonderful collection of thoughts from some of the greatest minds that ever lived. Last week I went into my local Barnes and Noble to buy a graduation present for my Grandson.
In fact, when my next social security check comes out, I'm going to run out and buy myself my own copy of The Most Brilliant Thoughts Of All Time. I love it and in a week when my Grandson opens it, I know he'll love it to. One of my favorite things about The Most Brilliant Thoughts Of All Time was its presentation. I'd like to personally thank the people responsible for putting The Most Brilliant Thoughts Of All Time on the bookshelves. The only thing I didn't know was how difficult of a search it would be to find a book like that. Not only will The Most Brilliant Thoughts Of All Time make an incredible graduation present, but it is the perfect birthday party, anniversary present, or a gift to pick up for someone that is having a rainy day. A book that will help him aspire to be the man I know he will become. Turns out many of them are having the same problems with finding the perfect book for their grandchildren's high school and college graduation.
I was appalled by what was on the bookshelves. After I purchased The Most Brilliant Thoughts of All Time, I showed it to some of my friends. I wanted something that will inspire my Grandson as he heads off to college in the fall. After thirty minutes, I found that book THE MOST BRILLIANT THOUGHTS OF ALL TIME (IN TWO LINES OR LESS).
You should have seen the look on my buddy's face when I quoted Sophocles to him during an argument. The Most Brilliant Thoughts of All Time is filled with memorable quotes, my personal favorite is "The height of cleverness is to be able to conceal it."-- FranÇois, Duc de La Rochefoucauld. So true. The author puts in his own quotes, which is bold, considering the book is named The Most Brilliant Thoughts Of All Time, but I respect that, because it's like my Momma always said, "if you don't love yourself, no one else will." Besides, some of his quotes are pretty good, "Reality is the other person's idea of how things should be." John M.
Okay, this may not be The Most Brilliant Book Of All-Time, but I loved it. "To A Man Who Is Afraid, everything rustles." I suggest if you haven't picked up this book, get one, it's worth the money. So if you want to alter other people's reality and make them think you're a lot smarter than you are, pick up this book and learn a few quotes. I first learned about The Most Brilliant Thoughts Of All Time in two lines or less after one of my favorite actors Terrence Howard (Iron Man, Hustle & Flow, Crash) said it was the book he reads every day.
Shanahan. You can quote me on that. If it's good enough for an Oscar nominated actor, it's good enough for me. It's an old school quote that still rings true today.
